Service management or IFM
Service management, or integrated facilities management (IFM), does not merely mean responsibility for providing in coordinating a business’s or public body’s FM functions but also includes the management, development and streamlining of support functions. In an outsourcing setup this means the customer taking on a more defined client role and reaching strategic decisions, while the supplier provides regular service using its own or subcontracting staff, while also processing administration, operational management and providing strategic support.
