Let’s explain the terminology

All operations can be divided between core operations and support functions. Accordingly, support functions are those activities close to operations that support any business’s or public body’s core operations.
Traditionally, support functions tend to be divided into five services segments:

  • Real estate services (also known as “hard” FM services)

Examples: real estate management, energy optimisation and security systems
  • Workplace services (also known as “soft” FM services)

Examples: reception, staff canteen, mail management
  • Production services

Examples: industrial cleaning, component servicing, waste management
  • Back office services

    Examples: payroll management, administration
  •  IT services

Support functions can be provided by in-house resources or outsourced to external suppliers. Coor is active in the market for outsourced facilities management services in the segment called integrated facilities management, or IFM. Coor exclusively offers services delivered on site with the customer.
