How we work on safety

Coor has established four collective focus areas, which helps us to achieve our zero accidents vision.

Leadership and behaviour

All our employees should have the know-how and focus on HSEQ to prevent risks and develop a safe working environment. Behavior and compliance are well implemented in daily activities. HSEQ is a permanent item on the agendas of all management, operational and project meetings. To raise the risk awareness of all employees, and thus reduce the number of accidents, we have also adopted a collective safety attitude – 'Your safety - yours and mine responsibility'.

Organization and network

Safety representatives are present at all locations, and safety inspections are conducted as required at each workplace. Coor has an internal HSEQ organization that works on a structured footing, especially on ensuring the exchange of best practice between all Coor's operations.

Following up on KPIs

It is vital that all undesired incidents that have, or could have, resulted in a person being injured are reported and analyzed. This enables us to learn from our experiences and take the necessary action. All faults within Coor are reported in a group-wide BPM system (Actio). Some KPIs are also monitored continuously at all levels of the group: the number of risk observations, incidents, number of accidents and LTAs (lost time accidents).

Clear processes and instructions

Coor has clear processes and instructions that are applied by our employees and subcontractors. Because Coor delivers a large number of services subject to varying risk to a large customer base with differing requirements, they are adapted to each customer and service. There are dedicated guidelines for more hazardous work such as civil engineering and construction, waste management or handling chemicals. All chemicals being used are registered.
