Coor sends its “Guiding Star of the Year” on a voluntary work trip to Africa

Each year, Coor selects a "Guiding Star of the Year"— a person that represents the company's values (guiding stars) in an exceptional way. This year, the award goes to Cathrin Olsen, whose day job is a Conference Hostess for the company's Norwegian customers. Cathrin had a number of options to choose from as her prize, and selected an exciting and worthy adventure—travelling as a conservation volunteer in South Africa. She will take two working weeks in March to work on a project in the country, assisting on the conservation of a national park. The trip is being organised by Good Travel.

"I'm really proud of the "Guiding Star of the Year" award, which I think is fantastic. It's going to be so exciting to travel to Africa, and it also feels great to get an opportunity to work in a national park—not least because I'll be working with wild animals," said Cathrin, a Conference Hostess at Coor Service Management.

This is the first time Coor has offered voluntary work as an award.

"When this proposal came up, we thought it was a step in the right direction. The award's good for two reasons, firstly it will be an unforgettable memory for Cathrin, and secondly it supports the company's sustainability ambitions. I hope and believe that Cathrin will have a fantastic journey," commented Anders Asplund, Coor Service Management's HR manager.

Cathrin Olsen won the prize for her positive attitude, the way she takes responsibility and her strong customer focus. She always keeps up with customer needs, what's happening in her buildings and is very popular with colleagues and customers.
