Reducing the climate impact of food is a key part of Coor’s net zero plan. Food and beverage is our largest source of emissions and therefore one of our most important focus areas.
We have now reached an important milestone. Compared to our base year 2018, we have reduced the climate impact from food by 37%, measured as CO₂e per kilogram of purchased raw material. Our original target was a 30% reduction, which means we have exceeded our goal.
This shows that it is possible to serve healthy, nutritious food that tastes good, while significantly lowering climate impact.
For customers who subsidies employee meals as part of compensation, these reductions also contribute to lowering emissions in their own value chain. In other cases, the value lies in offering a more sustainable, future‑ready food service that meets growing expectations from employees and guests.
This milestone confirms that our approach works, but it is only one step on a longer journey. Our next target is a 58% reduction in climate impact from food and beverage by 2030.
Reaching this will be challenging and depends on continued collaboration with customers, guests and suppliers. By working together and building on what we have learned, we continue to make it easier to serve food that is good for people, good for business, and better for the climate.
