Coor more than halves emissions in its own operations

Coor has reached an important milestone in its climate journey: we have achieved, and exceeded, our 2025 target for cutting scope 1 and scope 2 emissions. These emissions mainly come from our vehicle fleet, equipment and the electricity we use.

Milestone progress towards our 2030 target

Reducing these emissions not only lowers Coor’s own climate footprint, but it also reduces the emissions embedded in the services we deliver. Helping customers cut their Scope 3 emissions and reach their own climate goals.

With 2018 as our baseline, Coor’s 2030 ambition to reduce operational emissions by 75% has been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). To accelerate progress, we established an interim milestone: a 50% reduction by 2025. As we close 2025, we are proud to have surpassed this target, achieving a 53% reduction compared to 2018.

Climate results that strengthen the value we deliver

Coor’s operational emissions reductions directly benefit our customers. A lower operational footprint means that customer deliveries come with lower climate impact, supporting customers in reducing their scope 3 emissions and meeting growing regulatory and reporting requirements. This milestone demonstrates Coor’s ability to combine ambition with action, investing in solutions that create long term value, strengthen resilience and prepare the business for a low carbon economy.

What has driven the reduction?

Electrification of our fleet (scope 1)

We have significantly reduced our direct emissions by shifting vehicles and equipment from fossil fuels to electric alternatives, or to HVO where electrification was not yet possible,. We have also right‑sized the fleet to use resources more efficiently.

More renewable energy and energy-efficiency measures (scope 2)

We have lowered emissions linked to our energy use by prioritising renewable energy through framework agreements, and by working closely with energy suppliers. We have also introduced energy‑efficiency improvements that reduce total consumption across operations.

A collective effort

Reaching this milestone has been a shared effort. Teams across Coor, from frontline staff and procurement to sustainability and leadership, have contributed to this progress. Just as importantly, our customers and suppliers have played a central role by supporting the transition to electric fleets, renewable energy and smarter, more efficient ways of working.

Looking ahead: the road to 2030

Reaching our 2025 milestone is an important step, but not the end of our journey. To meet our 2030 target, we will continue to focus on:

  • Further electrifying and optimising our vehicle fleet
  • Increasing energy efficiency across operations
  • Increase the share of renewable energy

By building on this momentum, we continue our transition towards net zero emissions to 2040, together with our customers and suppliers.
