Environmental sustainability

Environmental sustainability is a cornerstone of Coor's strategy and a key pillar of our triple bottom line approach – balancing environmental, social, and economic value. Our ambition is clear: to become the leading and most sustainable FM provider in the Nordic region.

Coor's approach to environmental sustainability

We work actively to reduce both our own and our customers’ environmental impact, while minimizing resource consumption across our operations and supply chain. This includes everything from energy use and waste management to chemical handling, transport emissions, and raw material sourcing.

We aim to deliver net zero services to our customers by combining data-driven solutions with circular practices, innovative technologies, and strategic collaboration across our value chain.

Coor's climate agenda: reaching net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040

Coor’s climate strategy is aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and the Paris Agreement, ensuring our goals are grounded in what science says is necessary to limit global warming to 1.5°C.

We are committed to reaching net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040, 10 years ahead of the SBTi’s standard requirement. This means reducing emissions across all three scopes by 90% compared to our 2018 baseline. In 2023, the SBTi validated that our climate roadmap meets the evidence-based criteria required to achieve this target.

Coor's short-term climate targets

  • Reduce emissions in our own operations (scope 1 and 2) by 75% by 2030 compared to the 2018 baseline. This will be achieved through fleet electrification and the use of renewable energy.

  • Ensure that 75% of scope 3 emissions – from purchased goods and services, upstream transportation, and distribution – come from suppliers with SBTi-validated climate targets. This supplier engagement target is set for completion by 2026.

Coor's long-term climate targets

  • Eliminating emissions from our own operations (scope 1 & 2)

  • Reducing emissions across our entire value chain (scope 3) by 90% compared to our 2018 baseline

  • Offsetting remaining emissions through targeted carbon dioxide removal strategies

Coor's  transition to net-zero: roadmap

Kajsa Bårman, Sustainability Manager at Coor

This roadmap is not static – it will evolve as we learn, innovate, and collaborate. But the direction is clear: a credible, science-based path to net-zero that delivers measurable impact and positions Coor as a sustainability leader in the FM industry.

Six key enablers for net-zero

Road surrounded by high trees. In the back, high mountains are rising up among clouds.

Achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions requires action across every part of our business. We have identified six key levers that will guide us to delivering more sustainable services and collaborating across our value chain.

These levers reflect where we can make the greatest impact – by transforming what we deliver, how we deliver it, and how we work together with customers, suppliers, and partners. Together, they form the foundation of our Net-Zero Transition Plan.
