Coor’s assignment:
Coor has collaborated with GN Store Nord since 2009, recently in a fully integrated facility management agreement including a range of services such as mail management, snow clearance, reception and restaurant services. The conversion of the restaurant space and the implementation of green solutions was part of a new contract in 2019.
GN Store Nord is a world-leading producer of high-tech hearing aids and headsets. However, rapidly expanding operations had until recently created a shortage of space.
The solution emerged during the process of renewing GN Store Nord’s contract with Coor in 2019. For a number of years, Coor had provided services under a fully integrated facility management agreement, including restaurant operations through Food by Coor.
Coor’s detailed knowledge of the restaurant operations meant that a solution could be found to address the shortage of space, and Coor proposed a solution that utilized existing floor space that was only in use for a few hours each day. By converting the existing restaurant space Coor created a space that allows for breaks and spontaneous meetings, a solution that was well received by GN Store Nord.
“We’re delighted with our collaboration with Coor and the team that works alongside us on site. We had full confidence in their ability to manage the task of converting the restaurant space. We can now utilize the space more efficiently and have also implemented a number of green solutions, such as applying intelligent energy coatings. This means that we’ve also been able to meet our sustainability targets,” explains Brian Iversen, VP Group Finance at GN Store Nord.
Coor was even a co-investor in the new restaurant and designed everything from scratch.
“We viewed it as a joint investment that benefitted all staff,” explains Thomas Fog, Business Unit Director at Coor. “We wanted to create the best possible user experience and gathered input from all staff in order to determine the optimal design solutions.”
The new restaurant opened in September 2019, and the design with a plant wall, beautiful wooden floors and good acoustics have created a great environment for socializing, meetings and food experiences.
“Everyone’s delighted with the new restaurant. And it wouldn’t have been as successful without the feedback from staff,” Thomas Fog explains.
